Automotive Academy Unimore

"Excellent Education to fuel excellent Research for achieve excellent Innovation" 

The Automotive Academy is an UNIMORE strategic project able to enhance its excellence in the research and teaching field at an international level, for the study and development of state-of-the-art technologies in high-performance vehicles and engines. The Academy was inaugurated in 2015 by the Italian Ministry of Education, Universities and Research, for research, teaching and internationalization purposes, that also funded the project.

Vision: take advantage and increase Emilia-Romagna peculiarities in the automotive field in order to create an automotive hub through the synergy between academic world and industrial reality. 

Mission: create a multydisciplinary organization capable to link Unimore Departments and talents, in order to offers high-level education in Vehicle Eningeering, support the most innovative Research and encourage linking the university's activity with its own socio-economic context.

The Unimore Automotive Academy works through three main development areas: 

  • Education:  creation of diversified teaching activities, held by nationally and internationally renowned university professors and professionals, integrated by “learning by doing” experiences.
  • Research:  carried out on innovation themes in the automotive field, both as research financed by national and European funds and as reinforced research themes in collaboration with industrial partners.
  • Third mission: aggregation and consolidation of public/private partnership, sharing objectives and methodologies encouraging the direct application, enhancement and use of learning to contribute to society's social, cultural and economic development.

The project mainly involves the “Enzo Ferrari” Department of Engineering in Modena, which has been active in research and teaching activities for the automotive sector for many years, and several companies, with the aim of creating a daily meeting point between the university environment and company R&D technicians, thus enabling the scheduling and achievements of objectives that the University and company research groups have in common.

In addition, the project is aimed at involving all the departments of UNIMORE featuring specifications that may be useful to enhance the Academy activities and its internationalisation (e.g. Department of Sciences and Methods for Engineering, Marco Biagi Department of Economics, Department of Communication and Economics, Department of Physical, Information Technology and Mathematical Sciences, etc.). 

On the 3rd of April Minister of Education, University and Research Valeria Fedeli inaugurates Automotive Academy
