Unimore e Total Marketing Service: a new partnership
Automotive Academy Unimore is glad to promote a brand-new partnership between the Department of Physical, Computer and Mathematics Sciences (FIM) of Unimore - University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and the well-known French group Total Marketing Services. This collaboration aim develop studies in tribology, thanks to the knowledge and skills of the research group led by Prof. M. Clelia Righi. Tribology is the science and engineering of interacting surfaces in relative motion. It includes the study and application of the principles of friction, lubrication and wear. Tribology is highly interdisciplinary in nature, and draws upon several academic areas including: physics, chemistry, materials science and engineering. The goal of the project is to understand the operating mechanism of a lubricant additive by means of computer simulations based on an “ab initio” approach. This kind of approach allows to describe in a realistic way the chemical processes that take place at the interface between two moving surfaces.
