ADAS + project

The University of Modena and Reggio Emilia is one of the protagonists of ADAS +, a project that aims at developing an innovative system of safe driving assistance (ADAS - Advanced Driver Assistance System) for the new generation of "smart" cars.

The project, coordinated by Unimore from prof. Paolo Pavan – Department of Engineering "Enzo Ferrari", involves ST Microelectronics as industrial partner, other Italian universities (Bologna, Palermo, Chieti - Pescara), the National Interuniversity Consortium for Nanoelectronics, the National Interuniversity Consortium for Materials Science and Technology, and public and private companies such as Micro Nano Sistemi scarl Technological District, Innoval scarl and MTA Advanced Automotive Solution. The project, worth almost € 10 million, will run for a period of 30 months.

To reach the final objective, three advanced technological modules will be developed, based on innovative technological platforms. Three prototypes will then be integrated into an ADAS + control unit, that will contain the ST components developed within the project, and that will be tested on a vehicle. “These activities will be carried out in close collaboration with MTA Advanced Automotive Solutions and will allow us to consolidate our practical knowledge and broaden the spectrum of our skills. We also have the opportunity to work with companies and research centers of excellence and we hope to increase our networking skills for future projects”, commented Prof. Paolo Pavan.
